Find an Open Access copy
OneSearch indexes open access content from numerous repositories like the Directory of Open Access Journals. See Finding an article in OneSearch.
Check Google or Google Scholar to see if the article is available for free.
Tip: In Google Scholar, it can be tricky to differentiate between content that is open access and that which requires a library subscription. One solution is to use a browser plugin like LibKey Nomad described below. This tool ensures you are properly authenticated to access content licensed by the library and helpfully locates open access copies of articles.

Once installed, look for the LibKey Nomad button on websites you visit to immediately get full text options. Works with research platforms like PubMed and Scopus. Can help users launch research from citations in Wikipedia articles. Compatible with all major browsers. Use the link above to download the extension for your browser, choose University of Montana Missoula for the Organization, and start searching. Note: The extension does not require that users register for a product-specific account.
