Library Guide to Finding Articles

Finding an article via WorldCat (Discovery)

WorldCat (Discovery)

WorldCat (Discovery) helps users locate materials held by libraries across the world and place interlibrary loan requests to borrow items. Beyond this, it indexes records for granular content like articles and book chapters in much the same way that OneSearch and Google Scholar does.

The “Search University of Montana” link will offer full text results available at the library. There’s also a "Request Item through Interlibrary Loan" option, but it’s advised you click on "Search University of Montana" first. The UM menu will offer an interlibrary loan request form if the library does not carry full text.

WorldCat via OneSearch

WorldCat is available from the OneSearch interface under External Search. Clicking the link will transfer the keywords you entered in OneSearch and launch a search in WorldCat.

WorldCat External Search from OneSearch

By default, WorldCat will open worldcat.org which is the open access version of the database. However, you will get a prompt to redirect to WorldCat (Discovery).
