“50 years of UM’s Montana Model UN”

In the spring of 1966, Political Science major Louise Krumm persuaded her friends on UM’s Model UN Traveling Team to establish the Montana Model UN (MMUN) High School Conference.  Fifty years later, the conference is still going strong.  In 2015, 400 students from 21 Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming high schools spent two days on campus, debating world issues.  The presenters will discuss MMUN’s rich history, how they became involved, what they have learned, and why they keep coming back for more.  

The 50th annual conference was held at The University of Montana on November 23-24, 2015. Over 420 student delegates from 21 high schools represented 124 countries in a two-day simulation of global diplomacy.
