Executive Branch in Brief

 

The Executive Branch of the government, headed by the President, is where most government entities fall. The fifteen Cabinet department Secretaries advise the President on matters of national and international concern. 

They include:

  • The Secretary of State
  • The Secretary of the Treasury
  • The Secretary of Defense
  • The Attorney General of the Justice Department
  • The Secretary of the Interior
  • The Secretary of Agriculture
  • The Secretary of Commerce
  • The Secretary of Labor
  • The Secretary of Health & Human Services
  • The Secretary of Housing & Urban Development
  • The Secretary of Transportation
  • The Secretary of Energy
  • The Secretary of Education
  • The Secretary of Veterans Affairs
  • The Secretary of Homeland Security

Each of the departments oversees sub-departments, agencies, and committees.
